Welcome!

This blog is being created as a new venue to showcase my art work, hopefully sell and promote it. A little background on me. I am an art teacher for a local non-profit school of the arts (Gaston School of the Arts in Gastonia, NC). Currently I teach a group of elementary age children at the local YMCA through a grant from the school. I have 30-60 kids in a 2 hour period weekly. I share the love of art, the opportunity to create art and new ways to create art. They inspire me each time.

Personally, I am married (29 years) to Terry, a retired nuclear power plant tech specialist. We have one grown son who is city editor for the Sun Journal Newspaper in New Bern, NC (300 miles away). We live in the small town of Alexis but hope to build on family property in the near future where we have the old family home. I call the magical land Fernwood. We enjoy time there but not as often as we'd like.

I have been doing art since my first box of crayons but started seriously studying and growing creatively in 1990 when I took a class from a local artist and teacher friend, Anne Godfrey, a successful artist in her own rights from Lincolnton, NC. I have since studied with many artists and love exploring new techniques and styles but I adore watercolor and mixed media. I make lots of my own notecards I call Tessy Designs. I also enjoy painting and doing mixed media collage. I art journal almost daily. You can see much of my art on my original blog http://www.creativeinspirations.blogspot.com/ I have been fortunate to earn some recognition through local shows, galleries and in Somerset Studio publications. I also enjoy journaling and writing and share much of that on the other blog as well. My intent is to truly use this more as a website to share my art. Please continue to check back for more and more about me, my art and how you can purchase a piece for your own collection. For now thanks for visiting, come back soon and tell your friends.

For now, I am listing one piece per post for sale. It will give a brief description, price and how to purchase. Prices will include shipping except for international orders. Please contact for that info. I have a PayPal account and will accept payment through it or by money order exclusively at present.
